Ramadan Mubarak sha رمضان مبارک

That’s Pashto (the language used by the Afghans newly arrived in our community) for

Happy (or Blessed) Ramadan!

“March comes in like a lion…goes out like a lamb”? Nope, whoever said that obviously didn’t live in Vermont, though it is lambing time now so in some fashion I guess.

Disclaimer! I did not take this photo but I couldn’t resist posting it.

Mud season has been particularly bad this year but there is always some beauty to be found

if you keep an eye out for it.

“April showers bring May flowers”? Nope, April showers bring amphibian road crossers.

“April is the cruelest month”? Perhaps but what about May snowstorms?

My front path one day in May

And the blackflies in June just when gardening season is in full swing?…

Good thing I have my black fly netting to protect me. (I rolled it up for this photo op at the Adamant Blackfly Festival)

And finally, Gut Chodesh! Happy new moon first day of the Jewish calendar month of Nisan!

I’ve been stopping by the lambs and their families at the farm on Town Hill Road…each lamb and kid and ram baaas in a different tone.
